SUMMARY:Small Business Council Reminder
DESCRIPTION:Attendees introduce themselves\, their business\, and share an exciting development or project they are working on. Then we have a special guest speaker to present on a variety of interested topics.\n\n \n\n This month's speaker is supposed to be SBA speaking on the below topic. However\, we may have a change in plans which we won't know until next week since the Government is on shutdown he may not be able to make it. If this is the case he will plan on coming in December and we will speak on behalf of the upcoming Leadership Norfolk class.\n\n \n\n Take the Mystery out of the Affordable Care Act \n\n During U.S. Small Business Administration Seminar in Norfolk\n\n \n\n OMAHA--The U.S. Small Business Administration's Nebraska District Office will offer a free seminar designed to take the mystery out of provisions of the Affordable Care Act that potentially affect small business owners Oct. 8 from noon to 1 p.m. at the Norfolk Chamber of Commerce's Small Business Council at Valentino's\, 1025 S. 13th St.\, Norfolk.\n\n \n\n The Affordable Care Act includes a variety of measures specifically for small businesses that help lower premium cost growth and increase access to quality\, affordable health insurance. Depending on whether a small business owner is self-employed\, with fewer than 25 employees\, with fewer than 50 employees\, or an employer with 50 or more employees\, different provisions of the Affordable Care Act may apply. \n\n \n\n This seminar is particularly timely with open enrollment in the new Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP) beginning Oct. 1. Learn how this program offers small employers buying power similar to what large businesses have to get better choices and lower prices. The SHOP marketplaces will work with new insurance reforms and tax credits provided by the Affordable Care Act to help lower barriers that small employers face when trying to offer health insurance to their employees.\n\n \n\n To reserve your seat for this free seminar\, please make your reservation now by calling the Norfolk Chamber of Commerce at (402) 371-4862. \n\n \n\n For more information regarding SBA\, please visit our website at: www.sba.gov/ne\n\n ###
