There is always something going on in Norfolk, Nebraska! Between community events, business promotions, or committee meetings, there is plenty to discover on our Events Calendar.
An Update from the YMCA on Opening
Thank you for sticking with us during this crazy time. We are happy to announce that The Norfolk Family YMCA will be reopening in phases starting on Tuesday, May 19th. Members will be entering the North Welcome Center doors ONLY and exciting out of the 24/7 doors. We will have reduced hours than normal during phase one and our age limit will be 18 and older due to social distancing compliance and capacity guidelines. Our Hours for ALL members 18 years of age and older will be:
*Monday-Friday: 5am-7pm
*Saturday: 7am-5pm
*Sunday: 12pm-5pm
For those seniors 60+ or people that are at risk that wish to not come during the time listed above we have schedule special hours for you. They are:
*Monday-Saturday: 9am-10am & 2pm-3pm
*Sunday: 2pm-3pm
Below are the areas that we can have open during Phase 1:
*Free Weight Room (10 capacity)
*Wellness Floor (10 capacity)
*Cardio Area/Studio 1 (10 capacity)
*Track (10 capacity)
*Women's Only Area (4 capacity)
*Cycling Studio (10 capacity)
You must sign up for one of these areas ahead of time by phone and can schedule one day in advance or the day of for an hour workout time slot. You can begin calling on Monday, May 18th from 9am to 2pm. Areas will be limited to only 10 per area except Woman's Only Area. Please watch the videos below for how the YMCA is implementing the new guidelines set by the health department. Other guidelines we are putting in place are:
*Must be 18 years of age or older
*No Locker Room Access
*No Day Passes
*No Nationwide Memberships
*Each member will receive a sanitizing sprayer and one towel to wipe any area they use before and after.
The following areas will not be open during Phase 1: Pool, Fieldhouse, Gymnasiums, Racquetball Courts, Child Watch, Personal Training & Fitness Classes. An announcement will be made next week on youth programming.

How to Post on the Events Calendar
As a Chamber member, you have the opportunity to promote your business’ events, meetings, and workshops on our Events Calendar. Being active in your community by hosting public events, is a great way to help market your business, and the Chamber is happy to assist you with this effort.
Submitting to the Events Calendar is easy, and completely FREE for all Chamber members! There are two options for Chamber businesses to use when posting events on our Events Calendar.

Member Information Center (MIC)
We encourage our members to use the Member Information Center as a way to independently post events, meetings, or workshops. Through your account information given to you by the Chamber, you are able to log into this system and post directly to our Events Calendar yourself! You can also use the MIC to access more exclusive Chamber member resources. To learn more about the MIC, or to get your account information, please contact ktichota@norfolkareachamber.com at the Chamber.

The other option you can use when posting events, is to simply email the event details to the Chamber. The information you provide to us about your event will be used when posting onto the calendar. If you would like more control over the information given or details provided, we encourage you to try posting your event to the Member Information Center, as previously explained.
