There is always something going on in Norfolk, Nebraska! Between community events, business promotions, or committee meetings, there is plenty to discover on our Events Calendar.

First Week of Flushing Water Mains
The Norfolk Water Division will begin their annual water main flushing program on April 26th, 2020. Flushing will be done during the evening and overnight hours beginning at 8:30 PM and concluding at 6:30 AM the following day. Flushing will begin Sunday evening and conclude Thursday morning. No flushing will be performed on Thursday, Friday or Saturday evenings. It is estimated that the flushing program will be completed by May 21st, 2020. The Norfolk Water Division is asking that the public refrain from parking near fire hydrants in the affected areas.
Areas to be flushed during the first week, April 26th to May 2nd are as follows.
All areas from 49th Street east to 18th Street, from Benjamin Avenue to Omaha Avenue. From 49th Street east to Hillview Drive, from Benjamin Avenue north to Eisenhower Avenue From 18th Street east to 13th Street, from Maple Avenue north to Benjamin Avenue.
The purpose of the flushing program is to remove the buildup of iron and manganese deposits that have collected in the water mains. The water is bacteria free however it is not recommended to consume the water if it is extremely discolored. Customers living in the area affected by the flushing program are encouraged not to perform any laundry tasks at this time. The isolation of ice machines is recommended to prevent any iron and manganese deposits from plugging the ice machines.

How to Post on the Events Calendar
As a Chamber member, you have the opportunity to promote your business’ events, meetings, and workshops on our Events Calendar. Being active in your community by hosting public events, is a great way to help market your business, and the Chamber is happy to assist you with this effort.
Submitting to the Events Calendar is easy, and completely FREE for all Chamber members! There are two options for Chamber businesses to use when posting events on our Events Calendar.

Member Information Center (MIC)
We encourage our members to use the Member Information Center as a way to independently post events, meetings, or workshops. Through your account information given to you by the Chamber, you are able to log into this system and post directly to our Events Calendar yourself! You can also use the MIC to access more exclusive Chamber member resources. To learn more about the MIC, or to get your account information, please contact ktichota@norfolkareachamber.com at the Chamber.

Contact the Chamber
The other option you can use when posting events, is to simply email the event details to the Chamber. The information you provide to us about your event will be used when posting onto the calendar. If you would like more control over the information given or details provided, we encourage you to try posting your event to the Member Information Center, as previously explained.
