The Arc of Norfolk was formed in 1953, one of the first three Arc chapters in Nebraska, and was instrumental in developing The Arc of Nebraska. The Arc of Norfolk is affiliated with The Arc of Nebraska and The Arc of the United States. Our core values are: People First, Democracy, Visionary Leadership, Community Participation, Diversity, and Integrity and Excellence. We are committed to the community imperative: that all people have the fundamental moral, civil and constitutional rights to live, learn, work, play, and worship in safe and healthy communities of their choosing, and that all people, as human beings, are inherently valuable.
Our annual fundraiser is Honey Sunday which has a 40-year history as a fund-raiser benefiting local Arc chapters in Nebraska. The Arc of Norfolk serves and advocates for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. There are more than 450 families in Norfolk and northeast Nebraska who benefit from the work of The Arc. All proceeds from Honey Sunday stay locally ensuring that activities and supports for children and adults with developmental disabilities will continue in Norfolk and Northeast Nebraska.
During November, volunteers will be offering honey bears at area churches, and door-to-door for a $5 suggested donation. In Norfolk, Honey Sunday is slated for November 6; other communities in northeast Nebraska may choose anytime during the month of November. To help us promote this important fund-raiser we need your help.
