Manufacturing Day Event at Nucor: Tour & Presentation by GM Dirk Peterson & Governor Ricketts
October marks this year's nationally observed Manufacturing Month. In honor of Manufacturing Day on Friday, October 2nd, we are cordially inviting you to Nucor Steel. Nucor Steel will be hosting a tour of the facility beginning with a presentation by General Manager Dirk Peterson and Governor Pete Ricketts. Space is limited to 50 registrants. Registration Deadline: September 25, 2015.
Tour Group Guidelines:
1) Minimum age for tour group member is 18 years of age
2) Minimum PPE Plant Wide for Tours
3) Long Pants
4) Closed toed, flat shoes (NO mid or high heel, sandals, flip flops, ect.)
5) No rings or dangling jewelry
6) Hard Hat - Class G or E (Nucor will provide)
7) Safety glasses with permanent side shields (Nucor will provide)
8) Hearing protection - 29NRR minimum (Nucor will provide)
9) Orange Flame Resistant Coat (Nucor will provide)
10) **Please let tour guide know if you have a pacemaker or similar electronic device--these visitors cannot be on the furnace deck due to high intensity electric arching and we would not want to compromise your safety.

How to Post on the Events Calendar
As a Chamber member, you have the opportunity to promote your business’ events, meetings, and workshops on our Events Calendar. Being active in your community by hosting public events, is a great way to help market your business, and the Chamber is happy to assist you with this effort.
Submitting to the Events Calendar is easy, and completely FREE for all Chamber members! There are two options for Chamber businesses to use when posting events on our Events Calendar.

Member Information Center (MIC)
We encourage our members to use the Member Information Center as a way to independently post events, meetings, or workshops. Through your account information given to you by the Chamber, you are able to log into this system and post directly to our Events Calendar yourself! You can also use the MIC to access more exclusive Chamber member resources. To learn more about the MIC, or to get your account information, please contact ktichota@norfolkareachamber.com at the Chamber.

Contact the Chamber
The other option you can use when posting events, is to simply email the event details to the Chamber. The information you provide to us about your event will be used when posting onto the calendar. If you would like more control over the information given or details provided, we encourage you to try posting your event to the Member Information Center, as previously explained.
