U.S. Cellular to host Device Workshop

With the holidays quickly approaching, parents may get their child the gift of a first cellphone. While this is an exciting time, parents are challenged with ensuring their kids use a cellphone responsibly, courteously and safely. To make this milestone easier on both parents and kids, U.S. Cellular will offer a free Device Workshop focused on helping families make the decision of when to get children their first phone along with ways that mobile phones can help families stay connected. The workshop is open to everyone. Associates will offer tips on setting phone guidelines and discuss tools and apps that can help make this decision as smooth as possible. ?Mobile devices help families stay connected, so these Device Workshops are designed to offer hands-on demonstrations that both parents and children will find useful,? said Don Cochran, director of sales for U.S. Cellular in Nebraska and Iowa. ?With a variety of new phone models in the marketplace, as well as an array of Shared Data plans to choose from, we want to help parents make the best decisions for their family.?

How to Post on the Events Calendar

As a Chamber member, you have the opportunity to promote your business’ events, meetings, and workshops on our Events Calendar. Being active in your community by hosting public events, is a great way to help market your business, and the Chamber is happy to assist you with this effort.

Submitting to the Events Calendar is easy, and completely FREE for all Chamber members! There are two options for Chamber businesses to use when posting events on our Events Calendar.

• Member Information Center (MIC)

We encourage our members to use the Member Information Center as a way to independently post events, meetings, or workshops. Through your account information given to you by the Chamber, you are able to log into this system and post directly to our Events Calendar yourself! You can also use the MIC to access more exclusive Chamber member resources. To learn more about the MIC, or to get your account information, please contact ktichota@norfolkareachamber.com at the Chamber.

• Contact the Chamber

The other option you can use when posting events, is to simply email the event details to the Chamber. The information you provide to us about your event will be used when posting onto the calendar. If you would like more control over the information given or details provided, we encourage you to try posting your event to the Member Information Center, as previously explained.
