Full-Time Universal Banker

BANKFIRST is seeking an outgoing, service oriented professional to fulfill the role of Full-Time Universal Banker at our Norfolk location.   Successful candidate will possess good math and communication skills, be accurate, work well under pressure and be well organized. The individual will be responsible for conducting teller transactions, cross-selling bank products and services, have the ability to perform new account duties and be able to identify and refer loan prospects to lenders as well as assist commercial bankers with deposit acquisition.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Perform new account duties which include selling new accounts and advising customers on all bank services and helping customers match the appropriate bank service to their specific need.
    • Conduct sales activities to sell and cross-sell products.
    • Target single-service households for additional products.
    • Offer “needs based” deposit/credit products to customers.
    • Set aside a specific number of hours each week for business development and plan work tasks accordingly.
    • Identify and refer loan prospects to a lender.
    • Assist commercial bankers with commercial deposit account acquisition.
    • Solve customer problems/complaints effectively and efficiently.
    • Demonstrate cooperation with all departments and serve as a “back-up” as needed.
    • Contact 100% of new account holders with follow-up thank-you/satisfaction correspondence.
    • Complete all product training as needed
    • Keep current with changes in consumer regulations as they pertain to deposit and loan products.
    • Participate in annual training as warranted by position.
    • Operate within the bank’s stated policies and procedures.
    • Other duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of various federal regulations including Bank Secrecy Act, Right to Financial Privacy Act, Regulation E and CC, and teller roles and responsibilities relating to each act.
  • Bi-lingual skills (English/Spanish preferred but not required)

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Prior Customer Service or Call Center experience preferred.
  • Previous sales training and/or experience preferred.
